The Love Essex Fund returns
Calling all waste-reduction enthusiasts! Could you be eligible for one of our £500 micro-grants? Each year, we provide funding to organisations, individuals, and schools in Essex with innovative projects aimed at reducing household waste.
For 2025, our focus is on reuse and repair initiatives. Here are some examples of previous reuse and repair projects:
- repair cafés
- refill shops
- textiles and toy redistribution groups
- bike, furniture, and electronics repair organisations
- clothes swap events
One of the successful applicants in the 2023 funding round was Kids Inspire, a children’s mental health charity. They used their micro-grant to purchase clothing rails and covers to store preloved clothes donated to their Vinted page.
On 6 November 2024, the charity held a Christmas shopping event at Ingatestone Hall where they sold their second-hand clothes. The event raised an impressive £3,240 for the charity and saved over 550 items of clothing from being thrown away – truly inspiring!
Applications for the fund will open on 6 January 2025 via the Love Essex Fund webpage. In the application, you'll be asked to provide a brief description of your project and a detailed breakdown of how you plan to spend the micro-grant.
Don't miss out! Applications close on 9 February 2025.
