From 31 March 2025, workplaces with ten or more full-time employees have a legal duty to apply the waste hierarchy and separate food waste and recyclable material from general rubbish.
We have recently partnered with MedEquip, so you can now drop off unwanted medical aids at Clacton Recycling Centre. The items are then cleaned, refurbished, tested and re-homed to help others.
Working with our colleagues in Essex Libraries, we’ve put together a collection of e-books and e-audiobooks for Essex residents to learn more about waste, recycling, and living a more sustainable lifestyle.
Do you run a project or have an idea to reduce waste and encourage reuse in Essex? Read more about our £500 micro-grants, as well as an inspiring success story.
Unfortunately, recycling centre employees across Essex have experienced an increase in incidents of abuse at work. We have created a video entitled 'We are real, we deserve respect' to remind everyone to treat each other with respect and kindness.
