Donation points for large electrical appliances

Essex County Council has partnered with the Lighthouse Furniture Project to offer more opportunity for Essex residents to recycle and reuse unwanted electrical appliances.

Residents can drop off their electrical appliances at some recycling centres, where they will be given a new lease of life for individuals and families in need. They will be repaired and refurbished if required before being tested by Lighthouse engineers.

These items are either passed on or sold at affordable prices in the local community.

This exciting partnership benefits individuals and families in need, who may be struggling with the cost of living. It also minimises waste in Essex by keeping items in use longer by repair, refurbishment and reuse.

Items accepted are:

• dishwashers
• freezers
• fridges
• ovens
• tumble dryers
• washing machines
